Overview
Comments lets your team have the conversation next to the thing they are talking about, instead of in a separate chat tool. Any artefact in AI Noven — an RFI, a register row, a section of a report, a node on a diagram — can be commented on.
Comments support @-mentions. Mentioned users get a notification in-app and by email; replies thread under the original.
The intent is to replace the "screenshot in chat" workflow that loses traceability. Months later, when someone asks "why did we change this?", the comment thread is right there on the artefact.
When to use it
- Internal review of a draft before it goes out for client comment.
- Client review when you want comments anchored to the document, not in a separate email thread.
- Anywhere the audit trail of "why" matters as much as the final state.
How it works
1. Open a comment thread
Click the comment icon on any artefact. Threads are anchored to the artefact and (where it makes sense) to a specific position within it.
2. Mention people
Type @ and pick a project member. They get an in-app and email notification with a deep link back to the comment.
3. Resolve
Resolved comments collapse out of the way but stay searchable. A thread is part of the audit trail and is not deleted.
Tips
- Use comments for "why" — short statements ("changed to match section 4.3 of the spec") will save your future self.
- Resolve threads aggressively; an open comment list is noise.
- For larger discussions, raise an RFI instead. Comments are for points, not for debates.
