Overview
Progress Reports is the recurring document that goes to the client (or to your management) every week or month. It pulls the current state of the project — schedule progress, open RFIs, recent decisions, hours burned, risks — and writes it up in your branded template.
It is meant to be boring on purpose. The same structure every period, so the audience can compare across periods at a glance.
When to use it
- Weekly client updates where you produce the same thing on the same day.
- Monthly steering committee packs.
- Anywhere a periodic, structured status document is contractually required.
How it works
1. Set the cadence
Weekly, fortnightly or monthly. The system reminds you when the next one is due.
2. Define the structure
Pick from the standard sections (executive summary, schedule, RFIs, decisions, hours, risks) or add your own. The structure is shared across all periods.
3. Generate
One click. The AI fills each section from the live project data and the previous period's report (so you get "what changed since last time" naturally).
4. Edit and issue
Review, tweak, export to PDF, and send via the Approvals portal or email.
Tips
- Lock the section structure on day one. Changing it month-to-month makes period-over-period comparison useless.
- The "risks" section is the one most worth your time. Everything else is automatable; risks need judgement.
- Issue on a fixed day of the week. Predictability matters more than perfect timing.
